Presentation

The course was addressed to reinforce the student’s skills to face their research career, from the starting of the PhD thesis to the later own’s development.

It consisted of a series of seminars and workshops given by the specialized staff of UPC, and also SSSA and UNIVER. The course covered seven different topics, dealing with technical aspects, as well as, communication and how to tackle ethical and responsibility issues. The course lasted from March 24 to April 22, 2021. Some of the seminars are part of the UPC PhD formation program, while others were specially designed for the ATLAS students to complete the planned contents. The workshop on communication held in Verona in October 2020 was also part of this formation program.

The content of the course considered aspects mainly academic-oriented and others related to how to manage oneself along the research career.  Referring to the former, the course comprises different seminars oriented to deal with how to manage scientific resources, from tools and internet searchers to find and manage information, to how to write scientific publications and how to communicate. Referring to the own’s talent, the course dealt with the management of time and social relationships, mainly to avoid discrimination.
