NTA 4 – 3D tissue segmentation, modelling and deformation: From pre-operative to intra-operative image analysis

This NTA took place over the course of five days from the 20th to the 24th of July 2020. Due to COVID-19 situation, the event was held online. The event was organized by Elena De Momi from Politecnico di Milano, Diego Dall’Alba from DCS Università di Verona, Sara Moccia from DII Università Politecnica delle Marche, and Aldo Marzullo from DEMACS Università della Calabria.

The event was divided into the following parts: theory, practice and hands-on, ATLAS pitches with students’ challenge. The research topics crossed over an introduction to deep learning, 3D anatomical-image segmentation, intra-operative video analysis, pre-operative to intra-operative image registration, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) and biomechanical simulation.
