NTA 2: Soft robotic actuation workshop

SSSA’s Matteo Cianchetti providing a definition of soft robotics

Two weeks ago, our ESRs got together at TU Delft to participate in a practically oriented workshop with soft robotic actuation technologies at its heart. In three days of lectures and hands-on sessions faculty from Sant’Anna Pisa, KU Leuven, and TU Delft offered a peek behind the curtain of flexible medical device actuation. Together, they unveiled the ins and outs of granular jamming, artificial muscles and tendon-based instruments, going all the way down to predicting actuator behaviour mathematically.

Thanks all of our very enthusiastic attendees and to the teams from Leuven, Pisa, and Delft for their excellent contributions!
